Simple Supper Solutions 

We provide and prepare all the ingredients for 5 weekday main dishes for you to assemble and take home to your family.  Some optional ingredients can be added or omitted based on personal preferences.  We supply the freezer containers, labels, etc. and do all the clean up.  You will leave with 5 homemade entrees, ready for the freezer or your dinner table, each of which will serve an average family of 4. 

October's menu includes:  Hearty Beef and Barley Soup – premade, Lemon-herb Roasted Chicken, Baked Penne with Roasted Tomato Sauce and Mozzarella, Beef Fajitas, Chicken Fettuccine, Cranberry Pork Chops, Wasabi Miso Salmon, and Cremini and Carmelized Onion Quiche - premade.

Cost:    $125.00 + GST = $131.25 per person

Cooking 101 – three class series

If you would like to become more "at home" on the “range” or are just starting out at cooking on your own, this class is for you.  Allow a professional chef to lead you through demonstration and hands-on food preparation so that you come away knowing how to make a variety of different meals and have the skills to create new ones.  Included will be a review of basic must-have equipment for an effective working kitchen.

Dates:  Saturdays, October 18 and 25 and
  November 1st
Time:  10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
Cost:  $180 + GST = $189.00 per person*
         *Individual classes are $70 each

Traditional Sushi with Chef Ono

Join Chef Ono Sadao of Edohei Restaurant, for an evening of authentic Japanese appetizers, soup and hands-on sushi making.

City of Winnipeg Certified Food Handler Training Course

All food establishments with fewer than five food handlers must have at least one staff person that has successfully completed the City of Winnipeg training course.  We offer a five hour session which includes coverage of the 11 essential units, practise tests and the final exam.

Date:    Wednesday, October 29 from 4:30- 9:30 pm or 
            Thursday, October 30th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Cost:     $100.00 + GST = $105.00 per person includes supper

Everything Pizza

Enjoy some for the world’s best pizza recipes with pizza champion, Diane Coutu of Diane’s Gourmet Pizza.  Learn to make great dough, how to top it with some local and international ingredients.  Each person will go home with their own pizza and Panzerotti.

Tantalizing Thai

Join Sumalee and Chef from One Night in Bangkok for an evening of fresh and flavourful Thai cuisine.  We'll make appetizers, soup, main course dishes and dessert.  Learn the tricks to make your own authentic dishes at home.

Holiday Baking  

Create some of the planet’s favourite sweets with Chef Helmet Mattae, former Culinary Team Manitoba Pastry Chef.  We’ll use chocolate in a variety of applications, make cheese cakes, crème brule and more.  Each person will go home with an assorted tray of dainties. 

Dates:  Monday, November 17 from 6.30 – 9:30 p.m.; or Saturday, December 6 from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Gourmet Appetizers

Using a variety of seafood, chicken and vegetarian options, learn to serve your guests in an informal style that will allow you to enjoy the party as well.  The focus will be on the fresh harvest flavors.  Entertaining at home has never tasted so good.

Holiday Appetizer

Learn to make some of the holiday’s favourite appetizers using seafood, smoked fish, puff pastry, and Phyllo dough; we’ll make easy tappas, dips, spreads and more.  Each person will take home an assortment of appetizers to share at home.

Children's Birthday Parties

At The Food Studio your child and his/her friends will enjoy a food workshop specifically geared to their age and skill level.  Options include:  pizza, fresh pasta and sushi and full, hands-on participation is the norm.  They will also enjoy making candy sticks, decorating their own cupcakes and playing a Food Game.  The birthday child receives a special gift from The Food Studio.  Activities are tailored to the children's skill level.  This is an all-inclusive package, parents just show up and enjoy!
